Traveling to Los Angeles can be stupid expensive. That's why we're happy to have discovered that Virgin America just announced a bunch of new nonstop routes including one that flies between Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Tickets are available for purchase on their website at a promotional rate of $259-$359 round trip for the Philly-LAX flights. They also have a DC to LAX roundtrip for about $220. Uh, those are crazy discounts. Round trip airfare between coasts is usually more like $500-$700.
Also, we reserved a block of rooms at the Courtyard Marriott Los Angeles-Sherman Oaks for those coming in from out of town. Guests of the wedding receive reduced rates of $119 a night for rooms allowing up to two guests and $139 a night for rooms allowing up to four guests. To take advantage of this discount just mention you're a guest of the Valka/Hoffman wedding when you book. The rooms will be held for us until September 7th, at which point any unreserved rooms will be released by the hotel and no longer available at the special rate.
Anyway, we wanted to let everyone know about the discounted airfare and hotel rates just in case it makes the trip possible after all. If you were already planning a Los Angeles visit...well, now would be the time to make your travel arrangements:)
